Finding Fluidity with Robbie O'Driscoll

This workshop is about mastering the increasing and reducing internal tension we create on a daily basis, often without knowing, to better suit an ease of movement.

In this workshop, the floor will be used as a tool inline with the imagination to explore methods of moving and creating new movement patterns.

Movement patterns from those in standing to lying, with those that join between, will be taught in bite-sized portions, then pieced together.

Rather than offering choreography, the intention is to equip the student with a new movement vocabulary and tone, so as to have the ability to “write” their way.

Well Played with Robbie O'Driscoll

In this workshop you will be introduced to interactive games that can be continued and adapted upon, that will teach fine motor skills, gross motor skills, physical problem-solving skills, as well as developing strength, conditioning, and joint control.

The principles of play/practice learned give students/players responsibility for developing their physical intellect (coordination, balance, efficient responsiveness) to maintain the integrity of their own structure.

What’s more is that the entirety of the workshop has fun engagement at it’s core. Craic!

Fundamentals of Acroyoga with Fiona Ashley

This workshop will offer an introduction to the various aspects of Acroyoga, and is open to all- no prior experience necessary. After warming up with a short yoga flow and some partner strength training, you will learn some of the classic Acroyoga moves, and how to base, fly, and spot with confidence. Finally, we’ll cool down with some guided Thai massage moves.

The “Zen Acrobatics” approach to acrobatics training has developed from the urge to look for freedom in movement. The main goal is to find a movement quality that supports simple actions like walking and running, as well as acrobatic feats without a difference in effort or muscular usage. In order to do this, there is a search for high levels of awareness and precision so the body can react quickly to the changes in skeletal stress, and to maintain flow without unnecessary tension.
