Café Move Kids Camp

We are excited to share that we are offering a one day camp that we believe your child will benefit from in immeasurable ways.

Through our One Day Camp, we can offer children the chance to experience all that Café Move has to offer, that they might otherwise have to pass up due to schedules conflicting or being too far away.

The day will be packed with movement games, yoga, nutrition & natural herb product making,

What makes our camp unique is the specialized instruction in movement, character development and life skills education offered.
It's designed to teach your child life skills such as focus, confidence, teamwork, respect, discipline, and fitness.

1. Movement with Robbie O'Driscoll:

Get Up and Fall properly

The entire class will be taught through play as a group, in pairs and individuals.

The children will learn to forward roll, backward roll, and cartwheel. These movement skills have been identified as foundation movements of coordination and teach the child how to fall well reducing if not eliminating potential injury as well as being a lot of fun practice.

Hand-Eye, to full body coordination, will also be developed through attention-enhancing physical practice/challenges using tennis balls, and Jenga blocks making the practice replicable at home for furthering the development of these skills.

There will be movement games with a twist.
Stuck in the Mud and Tic Tac Toe will be played Café Move style.

2. Medicine Making wirh Sarah Fox

Teaching children to make and encouraging children to continue making herbal medicine is a valuable life skill. Using holistic solutions for ailments like headaches, cuts, bruises or rashes is easy and even more importantly, very effective. Being able to make your own medicine is an invaluable tool, so why not get your children involved at a young age?
In this workshop, we'll learn how to make a medicinal salve that can be used for many different ailments, including those listed above.

3. Yoga with Sarah Fox

Yoga can be of great benefit to children. Physically, it enhances their flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. In addition, it improves concentration and builds a sense of calmness and relaxation. In our workshops we'll playfully explore yoga postures by making animal-like shapes with our bodies - cats, cows and cobras to name a few. We'll playfully use breathing techniques through deep breathing and making sounds. We'll also use easy mindfulness practices to demonstrate how to teach our bodies and minds to relax.

4. How To Fuel Your Amazing Body with Alsion Kingston

With so much nutritional information available to us these days, why are we still not looking after our precious bodies as well as they deserve to be? I believe lack of appreciation and connection to our body is a big reason why. As a Nutritional Therapist and Eating Psychology Coach I aim to educate children to firstly appreciate their bodies.

Alison will explain how best to fuel our cells so we can be energies, happy and healthy. Her talk will be interactive, fun and be empowering. Alison will explain the importance of having a nice balance of protein, fats and carbohydrates with each meal. We will talk all things digestion and how this is at the core of feeling our best.

We will make some interesting and tasty snacks and smoothies at the end.
