The handstand is a fantastic tool for gaining and maintaining strength and mobility of the upper body. The development of this skill is a long term project, and requires an attitude of playfulness to maintain an enjoyable and effective process.
This workshop covers the approach I use technically to teach handstand practice:
Mobilising and strengthening exercises and routines, including their progressions for the wrists and shoulders;
Practicing the kick up
Using the wall;
Balance development tools;
Post-practice decompression and excess tension re-balance.
And covers the roles of intention, attention, and attitude during practice.
